If you’ve ever been to a Drag Bingo or Drag Brunch at Black Sheep, then you already know: Kandy is the backbone of it all.
For years she’s been the heartbeat of this restaurant — the one who greets you with warmth, makes you laugh, keeps the show running, and holds everything together behind the scenes. She has truly done every job imaginable here. Without her, these events wouldn’t exist the way they do today.
Kandy is one of the sweetest souls on this planet — she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She shows up for everyone, every time, with kindness, humor, and a level of care that makes Black Sheep feel like home. And now, it’s our turn to show up for her.
Lupus is an autoimmune disease that causes the body to attack itself, leading to fatigue, organ complications, and chronic pain. Over the past year, Kandy’s fight has gotten harder, and in the last few weeks she’s learned she will need a kidney transplant. This begins a new, challenging chapter for her as she waits for options and prepares for the road ahead — but if you know Kandy, you know she’s a fighter and a total trooper.
